Right on Wimbledon Common, our homely, village-style pub whisks you away from the hustle-and-bustle of busy London life (seriously, you won’t believe how peaceful it feels). Dating back to 1831, it was originally a bakery (and yes, you can still dine in the cozy, oven-filled nook!). We’ve been proudly serving up a fantastic, ever-changing selection of beers and hearty, traditional food to all who wander in.

Soak up the golden-hour glow and sip your way through summer with a spritz in hand in our charming-and-quintessentially-British pub garden, right on the edge of Wimbledon Common (yes, it’s as idyllic as it sounds). Every spritz is a taste of sunshine, whether you’re clinking glasses over a cool-and-refreshing Pimm’s Fizz or toasting with a fruity-and-bubbly Aperol Spritz. The perfect pairing? Wimbledon Tennis 2025

Before you make your way to Centre Court, wander over to the Common and swing by our wood-beamed, history-soaked pub, a proper Wimbledon gem serving the finest cask ales (lovingly pulled, of course) and seasonal, flavour-packed dishes made for slow lunches and long post-match catch-ups. We’re all about laid-back, conversation-flowing afternoons with the neighbours (and our Landlord Andrew), and sun-dappled, dog-friendly evenings with a pint in hand and the match highlights on in the background. Nostalgic Sunday roasts

Sunday roasts in our warm-and-welcoming pub transport you straight to the countryside (minus the wellies and long drive). Think giant, golden-and-crispy Yorkshire puddings, perfectly crispy-yet-fluffy roast potatoes, top-quality, melt-in-your-mouth cuts of meat, and a rainbow of fresh, seasonal veg, all topped off with rich, flavour-packed gravy. Ale enthusiast, connoisseur and landlord Andrew is offering the wonderful opportunity for groups of  6-12 to learn the ins and outs of real ale. Taking guests into the pubs cellar to explain the history of the pub, the process of beer making, tapping beer and the part we’re all really here for… Tasting different styles of beer!

Women’s Six Nations on the Common

Andrew will be opening up his rugby emporium once again to loyal regulars and anyone else who wants a more simple, cosy or intimate viewing experience. With one (very large) TV and only a couple of seats, we are doing first come, first served. So make sure you come down early to grab a table or seat at the bar.

Andrew and the team always make us feel welcome, staff are polite and efficient and clearly work so hard to ensure the best possible experience for their customers. We normally stop in once a week on our dog walk for a pint but this time we came for dinner. I had a delicious steak, cooked to my preference with the best peppercorn sauce I’ve ever had! Would highly recommend booking as this place is SO popular especially at the weekend but we were able to grab one of the outside tables which they reserve for walk-ins. Thanks for a lovely evening team!

If I could give more stars I would – top notch. We had a couple of issues this evening, but life isn’t perfect and you judge not by perfection but by how things are handled in its absence. We were blown away by the outstanding attention and service we received. Every member of staff made us feel welcome and part of the furniture. I’m confident that the Hand in Hand is going to become a regular go to local pub for us, with its wonderful surroundings, lovely people, yummy food and excellent choice of drinks.
